Jay Wojnarowski is co-founder and Artistic Director of Tribe of Fools, a physical theatre company based in Philadelphia.  In 2000, he received a BA in Theatre from DeSales University, with a concentration in Acting/Directing.  While there he studied acting, voice, and movement for both stage and film. He also studied and performed Commedia during the theatre department’s professional summer program, The Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival.  In 2002, he received a certificate for completing the Professional Training Program (PTP) from the Dell’ Arte International School of Physical Theatre in Blue Lake California where he studied corporeal mime, pantomime, acrobatics, clown, commedia, melodrama, mask technique, tango, and contact improv with some of the world’s foremost teachers.  He also has been trained in Commedia by Italian Maestros Enzo Aronica and Antonio Fava, and in clown by Big Apple Circus’ Barry Lubin.  He’s currently pursuing a degree in business administration with a dual major in Accounting and Entrepreneurship from Peirce College to better round out his management duties with Tribe of Fools.  He plans to complete his Masters in Theatre most likely from Dell’ Arte, and an MBA in Accounting before he reaches the age of 35.  Jay also knits, sews, bakes artisan breads, writes, sculpts, makes puppets, paints, builds masks, fools around with basic html, and has recently taught himself stop motion animation.  Artistically, Jay has devoted himself to creating new work with Tribe of Fools.  He plans to continue building Tribe of Fools into a preeminent name for exciting new dynamic theatre.
